Knot

Fleur, based in Nijmegen, is a multitasker when it comes to creative projects. Ceramics, interior design, graphic design, she does it all. The common thread in her work is best expressed in what the Italians call sprezzatura, which refers to a studied nonchalance. She embraces imperfections and let the materials do their work for her. In her studio, she continually experiments with clay, a material she finds interesting because of its craftsmanship, but also because it allows her to let the clay choose its own direction. She doesn't shy away from a certain degree of brutality. 

On the way to your destination, you sometimes encounter beautiful things. While working on a large table object - a vase, candle holder, and incense holder in one - Fleur developed the Knots. Organically shaped ceramic wall objects, who were ultimately intended to merge into one large object but are also beautiful on their own. They seem to dance and when incense is released, they have a mysterious quality.
