Values are (abstract) ideals and principles that an individual, group, or society considers important and strives for. Values are the fundamental beliefs that drive our behavior, they help us determine what we value in life.

In today's world, where there seems to be more emphasis on the individual than on the community, these shared values are under pressure. They're easily thrown in the bin. Chantal likes to take those wads of paper out again and give them a visible place. Although these simple pieces of paper with messages like "freedom", "respect", "love" and "happiness" hang casually on the wall, the underlying message deserves the utmost attention.
